Notarial Will (notarielles Testament)

Under § 2232 of the German Civil Code (BGB), the testator may make a Will by declaration to a (Civil law) notary (Notar). In order to make such a notarial Will (notarielles Testament), the testator either delcares orally his will or hands over to the notary a document with the statement that the document contains his last will. The testator may hand over the document either unsealed or sealed; it is not required to be written by him.
