choice of law clause (Rechtswahlklausel)

Under the European Succession Regulation, the law of the country of the last habitual residence of the decedent will govern succession. However, under Art. 22 of the Regulation the testator may choose that, instead of the law of the country of your last habitual residence, the law of your country of nationality (at the time of the choice or at the time of death) should apply to his succession. This can be the law of an EU Member State or the law of a non-EU country.
