European Certificate of Succession (Europäisches Nachlasszeugnis)

The European Certificate of Succession is a document, that can be requested by heirs (as well as legatees, the executors of a will and the administrators of the assets of the deceased) to prove their status and exercise their rights in another Member State of the European Succession Regulation. The European Certificate of Succession shows, in particular, the name of

• the heir or heirs
• certain legatees, and the
• the executor and his power.
