Excerpt from the land registry (Grundbuchauszug)

An excerpt from the land registry (Grundbuchamt) shows the names of the current and previous owners, third party rights in rem (e.g. mortagage) and the discription of the property. It is only granted to such persons who can establish a legitimate interest (e.g. heir, creditor or forced heir). Thus an application for an excerpt from the land registry must be accompanied by a letter explaining why there is a legitimate interest.
