Claiming a Death Benefit from a Canadian Retirement Plan or Savings Plan
The assertion of death benefits often causes significant difficulties. Such benefits may arise from a life insurance policy, an annuity contract, a (tax-advantaged) retirement plan (e.g. RRIF or RRSP), a pension fund (pension plan) or a tax-advantaged savings plan (TFSA).
