Registered same-sex partner (eingetragener Lebenspartner)

Under German law same-sex couples may enter into a registered partnership (eingetragene Lebenspartnerschaft), that provides all of the rights of marriage (except joint adoption) and full tax benefits (e.g.  regarding inheritance tax). Since 2017 same-sex couples may enter into a marriage.
