Testamentary disposition (Letztwillige Verfügung)
The term "letztwillige Verfügung" is used in § 1937 BGB synonymously with Last Will and Testament. Otherwise, however, in the BGB the term "Testament" is used for the external unit of the disposition established in the act of creation and
the term "testamentary disposition" is used for the individual disposition contained therein (e.g. appointment of heirs, legacy).
However, the term "testamentary disposition" can also refer to the Will as a whole. The term "testamentary disposition" should not be confused with the term "disposition of property upon death" (Verfügung von Todes wegen).
