Post-mortem Power of Attorney (Postmortale Vollmacht)

Under German law it is possible to grant a post‐mortem power of attorney (Vollmacht auf den Tod or postmortale Vollmacht) to another individual or legal entity. In this case, the power of attorney enters into force upon the death of the principle and the attorney-in-fact may use the power of attorney to settle the estate.
