Commercial Register (Handelsregister)

The German Commercial Register (Handelsregister) is a public register kept electronically (§§ 8 I HGB, 374 Nr. 1 FamFG) at the local courts (Amtsgericht) which records merchants and commercial companies under their name and makes certain legal acts public (principle of publicity).
